The LAKT01 and LAKT03 low ambient kits (for Light Commercial Models and Residential Splits) are temperature sensitive fan motor speed controls designed to regulate the outdoor section head pressure by varying the air volume through the outdoor coil and are required when operating below 55 deg F outdoor temperature. This is achieved by sensing the liquid temperature at the coil by means of a thermistor probe. The probe provides an input signal to the control to increase the fan motor speed in relation to changes in the liquid temperature.
